Randall Rich – SPECIAL CONSULTANT
Randall Rich is an attorney licensed to practice in California State and Federal courts. After passing the bar in 1988 Mr. Rich became a trial attorney with the Office of the Los Angeles County Public Defender. Mr. Rich has conducted over one hundred jury trials to verdict, including homicides and other potential life-in-prison cases. With over twenty years of experience in pre-trial preparation and motions to the court, and having litigated over one hundred jury trials, Mr. Rich has the both the breadth of experience and depth of knowledge to assist you in your legal matters.
As a Deputy Public Defender, Mr. Rich’s job responsibilities included all aspects of client representation from the initial interview through the jury trial, including conducting witness and client interviews, legal and factual analysis, directing investigative staff, preparing and filing of legal motions, retaining experts, making court appearances, negotiating settlements, tactical determinations, trial preparation, witness coordination and presentation of evidence and argument.
Mr. Rich spent several years assigned to the Office’s Major Fraud Division where he oversaw complex litigation, including managing thousands of trial related documents. In that capacity he has represented doctors, lawyers, professional conservators, accountants, and other professionals charged with crimes related to their professional license.
Mr. Rich was also assigned to the Public Defender Public Integrity Unit after a large police scandal. There he sought writs of Habeas Corpus for wrongly convicted persons, instituted systems and policies to monitor police misconduct and helped manage and re-organize the Public Defender Closed Case Archive.
